Tania Brown

Tania Brown, UK

Tania has practised yoga for 30 years after starting with her dad as a teenager.  She is deeply passionate about promoting health, vitality and well being through yoga, but in a light hearted, balanced and fun way. She teaches yoga for EVERYONE! No ego. No competition. No matter what your fitness level, age, status or body shape.

Tania continues to develop and infuse the different schools of yoga to give a rounded class reflecting the best of all the schools of yoga she has studied. Sivananda, astanga, vinyasa flow, Yin and restorative and yoga therapy - she teaches in schools, prison, hospitals, music festivals and international retreats.

Her goal is to create a space for all practitioners to feel inspired, nurtured and uplifted. To access the medicine and mental health tools available from yoga and breathwork. No matter what your means or body type. This is why she chooses not to teach in studios but in the community and creating spaces where all are able to join.

To simply allow what comes and release what goes. To stay present in the moment…

Saturday

12:30 : Core Blast (Studio 2 Middle)

Core strength a beautiful thing - but not for aesthetic, or superficial reasons. It's about having the control and support to engage in whatever you like to do (run along the local trail, play tennis, build furniture) without strain or injury. It’s not about what’s on the outside, padding and all; it’s about building strength on the inside, through the belly, side waist, glutes, and back. This class is functional movement - a fire inducing, fun and lively class that will leave you energised and uplifted and ready to take on the world!!

16:15 : Happy Hips (Studio 1 North)

Happy Hips!!  This class will flow and pulse into asanas that bring deep release in many areas that are tight and bring a sense of release across the whole body, with emphasis and focus on the hips - its a heavenly and soulful class which will work beneath physical sheath into the emotional body.  There are over 20 muscles that cross the hip (the collection of inner thigh muscles known as the adductors, the collection of outer thigh muscles known as the abductors, the hip flexors in front, deep lateral rotators in back, and more), so any movement that stretches any of these muscles could be considered a hip opener - we will go into ALL OF THEM! come and laugh, maybe cry and definitely feel a sense of surrender and release - Open level - benefitting all beings!

Sunday

08:00 : Yoga for Sports (Studio 2 Middle)

Yoga is an excellent cross-training tool that can help improve your athletic performance in all these sports by stretching tightened and fatigued muscles, increasing mental concentration, improving flexibility, and preventing and rehabilitating from common sports injuries. Come and explore the inner map of your body to increase performance and build confidence, strength and endurance in this sport focussed strong class, to go deep into the muscles and fascia. This alignment based class will end with a visualisation and breath techniques to compliment your other activities. Open level - Be prepared to hold deep poses and learn more about the integral linking of everything through the body - become your own masseuse!
